We’ll set up an appointment to meet at your property, and we’ll chat about your needs and preferences. If appropriate, I’ll take measurements and photos.

I’ll follow up via email with an estimate for the design fee, along with a description of the project we discussed at the site visit.

If you decide to proceed, I’ll send an invoice for 50% of the design fee, to be paid prior to starting work on your project.

If appropriate, I’ll send you a preliminary/base plan (to approve bed size/shape, large tree/shrub placements) before completing the final design.

The final design is submitted to you via email, to review and approve.

One round of minor revisions is included with the design fee. Minor revisions include plant selection substitutions, minor changes to shrub/tree placement, etc. Major revisions (i.e. major changes to bed size/shape/placement) are charged at $85/hour.

Your final design will be sent out for printing- final document to include:

-site preparation recommendations (if requested/you plan to diy)

-plan view design, rendered in color, with waterproof finish

-plant selection key with plant info- i.e. bloom time, color, any special maintenance recommendations

You may opt to pick up your design documents from our Ellicott City location, or you may have them mailed to your home address (postage fee applied to final balance).

A final invoice is sent for the remaining balance of design fee.
